Activities of our Local Church

Care Groups - Our congregation has available to all of it's members these smaller groups that take CAre and REsponsibility for each other. CARE groups meet after serviceds each third Sunday evening to conduct buisiness. They are encouraged to meet for fellowship, service, or worship as often as possible. For more information contact our Care Group Director Dick Long, or Barry Bryson.

Junior Worship - Besides regular Sunday morning and Wednesday Evening classes, there is a Junior Worship program. This is provided for children ages 2-3 years old during Sunday morning Worship service. The Children have a snack, Bible Activity, and art activity. Children are taken to Junior Worship directly from sunday school. Junior Worship is not held on fifth Sundays. People willing to teach in this area are rotated so they teach only three classes per year, such as the second Sunday every month for a quarter. For more information contact David and Deb Binkley.

Youth Group - We have an active group of teens. Monthly devotionals and activities are planned for September through May, some will be divided between Jr. and Sr. High, and weekly activities for the summer months. For more information contact Barry Bryson.

'Son'shine Girls - 'Son'shine Girls is a group for girls 1st through 5th grade. They meet together each Thursday night October theough May from 7:00 to 8:30pm. They have devotional time, and do crafts and service projects. Activities such as sleep-overs and field trips are planned each month. Ther are no scheduled meetings during the summer, but avtivities are ongoing. This group was founded and is led by Cindy Kline, who teaches in the Manassas Public School System. Registration forms and information are available through Cindy.

Discovery Scouts - A new organiation for boys in grades 1-5. They will meet bimonthly, on the 1st and 3rd Thursday nights, from 7:00 to 8:30pm. The boys will focus on discovering the wonders of God through His word and through creation. Tere will be activities or field trips planned regularly. Men's Fellowship\ Workdays - The men meet each 2nd Saturday morning for fellowship, and work around the building. They meet from 8am until noon. For more information contact John Brady or Phil Blakeslee.

Ladies' Nite Out - is held on a night every first week of the month. The ladies leave the kids home with dad for an evening to get to knwo one another better and have fun. Activities include bowling, game nights, progressive dinners, and dining out. For more information contact Virginia Wesselman.

Surprise Dinners - Folks who volunteer to participate in the surprise dinners will host one dinner and attend two others. At a surprise dinner the host is told how many adults and children will be coming to dinner, but will not be given their identity. Host families may request adults-only dinners. Each participating family hosts every third month. For more information contact Arlene Tucker.

Ladies Bible Class - Ladies Bible class meets Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 to 2:30pm at a predetermined location and/or on Thursday morning form 9:00 to 10:30am, at the building. For more information contact Thersa Bryson.

Sojourners Prayer Groups - Sojourners Prayer Groups are evangelistic prayer groups.

  • The Women's group meets every first Monday evening at 7:30pm at the home of Cindy Kline. For more infromation contact Teresa Bryson or Cindy Kline

  • The Men's group meets in the fellowship room at the building each second Monday at 7:30pm for dinner and prayer. For more information contact Barry Bryson

World Bible School - Our World Bible School activities are don in support of our missionary to India, Jerris Bullard. Teachers lead correspondence Bible courses with Indian nationals, as wll as some students from Africa. The congregation supplies all the materials, andy pays all the postage.
