Come over and help us...
Dear Brethren,
Greetings in the precious name of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Please rejoice with us in the news that Juanita is well! We learned this news from her surgeon last week. We thank the Lord for hearing the prayers of our wonderful brethren over the past five months on behalf of Juanita and myself. During this period of illness we were so impressed with all the kindness, patience, and understanding that was extended to us. We received so many cards, letters, emails, and telephone calls both from brethren in the states and India. We can never adequately respond to all these wonderful acts of love except to say from the depths of our being, “Thanks.” Juanita suffered a lot, but she is now feeling very well and is ready for the work.
We will begin immediately to visit and make reports on the work in India. Our goal is to see as many supporters as possible between now and Christmas. We plan to return to India on January 16, 2007
Last Saturday Juanita and I were working late at the church building. I had been crafting a sermon for over nine hours. She was patiently typing and retyping my revisions for me on the computer. I heard a sound in the building and went to investigate. One of out Elders and his wife (Dave and Beverly Button) had come into the building and were preparing her classroom for Sunday morning. After greetings were exchanged I told them I had to get back to wok on a sermon I was preparing. Bother Dave asked, “Are you preaching tomorrow?” At which I replied, “No.” In almost the same breath I explained, “Oh, I guess I am, but not here…in India.
My sermon (specifically a Baccalaureate Address for a class of 12 new preachers who were graduating from Bierpara School of Preaching on Sunday morning prior to the Morning worship service) was finished at 9:30 P.M. Saturday evening. We sent it to India at 10:00 P.M. Brother James Singh called us at 10:20 P.M. (7:50 A.M. his time Sunday Morning) He had received the message and would be reading it to the congregation in Bierpara only three hours from the time he received it. We would be sound asleep in Manassas, Virginia, but “I preached last Sunday in India.”
E-mail is an amazing tool; it is an enabler in our India Mission Work. Every day, on average, I communicate with ten brethren about various aspects of the work ranging from benevolence to evangelism to providing tools for their ministries from Bibles to Bicycles to church Buildings. Our work goes on night and day, and often I hear Juanita calling me at 1:00 A.M. saying, “You better com to bed so you ill be able to work tomorrow.” Whether in India or in the States our work continues day and night. Thank for your support and prayers.

Unless one is an accountant or banker, budgets don’t make for exiting reading. Or, don’t they? It depends on one’s perspective. God prospers His people in order that they may give to Him and His work. When one looks at a budget this way it is exciting to see that dollars bring glory to God, lift up the Christ so that He may draw all people to Himself, and honors the Holy Spirit by causing His Word to be preached and taught to people whom He converts to the name of Christ.
(Please note that Mission Budgets are often revised in order to reflect rapidly changing circumstances. Some readers may have an earlier version of this budget and may note a few changes between that and this latest version.)
